Our Mission
The mission of Lighthouse Educational Consultants is to educate, empower and connect those invested in the success of children, and provide guidance to make informed decisions which meet the unique needs of each individual child in an ever-changing educational landscape.
Our Founders
Lighthouse Educational Consultants was founded by Sarah Ross Pilacik and Christine Brown, both professional educators, in order to assist families in guiding the best course of action for their child socially, emotionally and academically. The well-being of our young scholars occupies the forefront of our vision.
Our People
Sarah Ross Pilacik
Ms. Sarah Ross Pilacik is a veteran special educator with over ten years of teaching experience and five years of experience as a Special Education Supervisor. She believes in value-added leadership, educating and empowering others to make decisions that are “best for kids”, with the ultimate goal of instilling advocacy and critical thinking. Sarah is highly qualified to teach preschool through 6th grade, middle level math and English, secondary English, and Special Education K-12. She also holds her administrative certification. She lives in West Chester with her husband, dog and cats. She is constantly in pursuit of learning and considers herself a wonder seeker.
Christine Brown
Ms. Christine Brown is an instructional leader with 24 years of public, charter and private school experience. She is an expert in supporting teachers and families in providing resources that are “best for kids”. She started her professional career as a music teacher in the Oxford Area School District and held administration roles for Camelot, the School District of Lancaster, Cocalico School District and Renaissance Academy Charter School. Ms. Brown received her BS in Music Education from West Chester University and her MA in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. She is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Administration from William Taft University. She resides in Phoenixville with her husband and son, and has a daughter who is a teacher in Philadelphia.
Maddie Kerper
Ms. Maddie Kerper serves Lighthouse Educational Consultants as an administrative assistant while finishing her Management degree at Montgomery County Community College. After graduation she plans to complete her Associate degree in Mass Media Studies. Maddie believes in supporting young adults working towards their post-high school goals, especially if they stray from the traditional path of attending a four-year university. After college, Maddie plans to travel the country in a converted van while working remotely as a Virtual Assistant. She lives in Flourtown with her grandmother and cat.
